Do you remember that when was the last time you travelled? Travelling for business is one thing, but I am talking about packing your bags, logging out of your all social media accounts and disconnecting from your normal routine for a week or more.

Without a doubt, the year 2020 was dedicated to lockdowns and travel restrictions. Never had we all imagined that there will come a time when we will not only be able to travel but will also have to work from home for a long period of time. Although, it is too early to predict that when we all can go back travelling as we used to without any mask or such.

But, if you are travelling now in 2021 then you need to keep in mind certain things to keep yourself healthy and safe. Even if you gradually step out to travel then don't forget your mask and hand sanitiser with you. Let's see what all are the rules that you should follow if you are stepping out for travelling.

1. Travel and testing

Testing before and after travel can reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. So, make sure that whenever you are at a place where the COVID tests are going on then, don't skip it, just get yourself tested.

2. Maintain a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) between you and others as much as possible.

3. Avoid contact with anyone.

4. Limit contact with frequently touched surfaces, such as door handles, elevator buttons etc. If you touch these surfaces, use a hand sanitiser or wash your hands afterwards.

5. Wear a cloth face mask.

6. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

7. Cover coughs and sneezes.

8. Clean your hands often. It's especially important after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.

9. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

10. If soap and water aren't available, use a hand sanitiser. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub your hands together until they feel dry.

It is always in the trend to visit new places and take infinite snaps that are social-media worthy. But the point of it is not to show off. The real reason to discover new cities and countries is that travelling is good for the soul. Yes, you heard it absolutely right.

You get an exclusive chance to see new places, do new things, eat new food, meet new people and get to know more cultures. Each of these features is attractive in their own way, but there is more to it.

Travel is good for your soul and health. Aha! Do you know why? Because it resets your body and frees your soul from any stress or depression.

You get to know the history of a particular place that you would not get to know if you stay at home. Exploring different places is only the best way out. So, basically, travelling increases your knowledge. Haha. Isn't this is so fascinating?

5. Travelling will decrease your risk of heart disease.

Are you a heart patient? If yes, then trust me that travelling acts like a magic pill. You don't need any medication to treat your heart disease. The only thing you need is travelling. Yes, travel to various places and see the change.

Many pieces of researches also show that the men and women who travelled annually were less likely to suffer a heart attack or develop heart disease. Aha! Literally travelling is magic.

6. Travelling improves sleep patterns

Are you insomniac? If yes, then go out to someplace for a week with your friends and see the difference.

The health detriments of poor sleep are varied, from irritability to poor cognitive performance and efficiency. It is recommended that adults should take asleep at least seven to seven and a half hours per night and this can be more easily achieved while travelling.

It’s obvious that travel comes with a myriad of health benefits for the mind, body and soul, so what are you waiting for – it's time to book that vacation. Your health will thank you later on for it.
